WILMA PAULINE WHITE, age 84, formerly of South A. Street, Richmond, Indiana, died Monday, August 2, 2004 at Pinehurst Combined Level of Care and Rehabilitation Center in Centerville, Indiana. Born on July 28, 1920 in Union City, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Harry & Marie (Lindamood) Thornburg and was raised by her step father: Edward Lake. She had taught school in the Star Building in Richmond for 25 years; a 1938 Morton High School graduate. She held a Bachelors Degree in Education from Earlham College and a Masters Degree from Ball State in Muncie and was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Richmond. Preceded in death by Husband: Gerald E. “Whitey” White in 1999. Brothers: Duane & Wilbur Thornburg.
Survivors: Sons and daughters-in-law: Gerald E. & Mildred White, Arley, Alabama, David O. & Lynn White, New Paris, Ohio. 4 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren. Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 5, 2004 - 1:00 P.M. (Ohio Time) at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main St. - New Paris, Ohio with Dale Canull officiating. Interment will be held in College Corner Cemetery - College Corner, Indiana. Family will receive friends two hours prior to service on Thursday at the funeral home.
