William Russell Rice

William Russell Rice, age 93, of Lewisburg, OH died Monday, April 30, 2012. Born on August 19, 1918 in Preble County, OH, he was the son of the late C. Wilbur & Esta L. (Smith) Rice. He retired in 1980 from Delco Products, a 1937 graduate of Verona High School, W.W. II U.S. Army veteran, member of Trinity Lutheran Church, James E. Ryan American Legion Post 322, West Alexandria, OH and was a member of the DAV.

Preceded in death by Wife: Garnet (Clay) Rice in 2004; Brothers: Keith, Kenneth and Gaylen E. Rice; Sisters: Corrine Hall, Eileen Ostaszewski and Geraldine Cullers.

Survived by Son: Stephen (Pam) Rice, Lewisburg, OH; Daughter: Susan (Jim) Heeter, Friendswood, TX; Step-Son: Don (Betty) Zumbrun, Eaton, OH; Step-Daughter: Joanne (Donald) Whipp, Lewisburg, OH. 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 511 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, OH with Rev. Brent Cavendish officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg with full military honors. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
