William M. "Bill" Ebersole

William M. "Bill" Ebersole, 80, of Eldorado, Ohio passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at Heartland of Eaton, after an extended illness. He was born on April 1, 1932 in Eldorado to the late Chester and Helen (Hinshaw) Ebersole.

He was a master woodcraftsman, farmer, Boy Scout leader, 4-H advisor, volunteer firefighter, founding member of the Preble County Pork Festival Committee, and an active member of the Eldorado Unitarian Universalist Church. He worked for over 20 years for the 1st State Bank of West Manchester, OH, served as bookkeeper for Geeting Auto, West Manchester, and was the clerk for the Village of Eldorado for several years. He was married to the late Bertha (Fields) Ebersole for 60 years prior to her passing in November 2011.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Wonderly and son-in-law Joseph Wendel.

He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law Deborah & Barry Trump of Eaton, Ohio, Sharon Wendel & Charlie Ayers of Allenspark, Colorado, and Tonya & Jim Clark of Eldorado; one son and daughter-in-law William E. & Marsha Ebersole of Elkhorn, Nebraska, and a brother, David Ebersole of Eldorado; eight grandchildren, Amy Haas, Brett Trump, Kelly Rose, Dana Cravens, Courtney Gould, Mary Wendel, Heather Brooks and Logan Brooks; seven great-grandchildren, Alexa Rose, Dylan Haas, Kyle Haas, Kaden Cravens, Jamison Gould, Jonathan Gould and Andrew Wendel; several nieces & nephews.

The service for William M. Ebersole will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, December 21, 2012 at Bussard-Barnes-Vaniman Funeral Home, 311 North Main Street, Eldorado, Ohio with Pastor Kathy Brawley officiating. Burial will follow in Wares Chapel Cemetery, West Manchester, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
