William K. League

William K. League, age 89, of New Paris, OH, died Thursday, May 21, 2015. Born on November 22, 1925 in Hamilton, OH, he was the son of the late Riley & Elizabeth (Bergel) League. William had worked at Marble Cliff in Lewisburg, OH then at Dayton Tire & Rubber where he had retired in 1980. William proudly served in the US Navy during World War II, serving on the USS Platte (AO 24) and the USS Baham (AG 71). Life Member of the VFW.

Preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marilyn G. League in 2000; brother, Jr. Brewer; sisters, Edith Gephart and Mary Richman.

Survived by his nine children, Sandy (John Lonick, deceased) Blessing of Mesa, AZ, Rocky (Peggy, deceased) League of Durham, ME, Ronnie (Marlene) League of Lewisburg, OH, Stoney (Bev) League of Lewisburg, OH, Pam (Don) Day of Lewisburg, OH, Mike (Faye) League of Eaton, OH, Terry (Melissa) League of West Manchester, OH, Cherrie Hix of Phoenix, AZ and Duke League of Quemado, NM; 28 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, OH with Rev. David Justis officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg, OH with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard.
