William D. Garrett

WILLIAM DONALD GARRETT, age 89 of Eaton, Ohio and formerly of Potterf’s Corner died Friday, January 24, 2003 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Born on May 15, 1913 in Butler County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles Henry & Ruth A. (Keller) Garrett. A graduate of Lanier High School and a life long Preble County farmer he was a member of the Farm Bureau Advisory Council #4 for over 60 years, St. Paul United Methodist Church in Eaton and Preble County Historical Society. Preceded in death by Wife: Mary Kathryn (Potterf) Garrett on June 7, 2001; Sisters: Marjorie Burnett in 1975, Elizabeth Isabell McDivitt in 2002

Survived by Daughters & Sons-in-law: Martha & James Schmidt, Dayton, Ohio, Janet & J. Dale Hartman, Westerville, Ohio; Son & Daughter-in-law: Donald & Beverly Garrett, Eaton, Ohio; Brothers: Kenneth Garrett, Eaton, Ohio and Robert Garrett, West Alexandria, Ohio; Sister: Joan G. Kreitzer, Eaton, Ohio. 7 Grandchildren: Maria (Bruce) Stephenson, David (Elizabeth) Schmidt, William (Susan) Schmidt, Jeffrey (Karen) Hartman, Jolene (Matt) Watkins, Janelle Hartman, Aaron (Trisha) Garrett; 10 Great Grandchildren: Adam, Eric, Brian, Jeremy & Marissa Schmidt, Greta & Marta Stephenson, Kimberly & Jennifer Hartman & Marina Watkins.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2003- 2:00 P.M. at St. Paul United Methodist Church- 120 North Maple St. - Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Steven G. Cann officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton. Family will receive friends on Monday, January 27, 2003 from 12:30 - 2:00 P.M. at the church.
