William A. Klinger, age 57, of Eaton, OH died Sunday November 14, 2004 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN., following a lengthy illness resulting from complications of diabetes and heart disease. Born October 16, 1947 in West Manchester, OH he was the son of Richard & Norma (Shiverdecker) Klinger.
Bill had been a fuel oil delivery driver, having worked for Beoddy Oil and New Paris Oil. Most recently he had worked for Pinkerton Security at the Iams Company. He was an avid bowler and loved fishing and camping. For several years he helped with 4-H and was a coach with the Little League and School League baseball. He was a member of the Preble County Fair Board; Wayne County Bowling Association; Preble County Harness Horseman’s Association; Whispering Christmas Committee. He enjoyed helping with the Darke County Harness Races, and was a trainer & driver of harness horses. He was preceded in death by his mother Norma; brother Richard E. Klinger Jr.; mother-in-law Mayfra Smith; brother-in-law Ricky Hall; sister-in-law Alice Klinger.
Survivors include his father; wife, Janet (Smith) Klinger; son Dustin Klinger (fiancée Katie Davis) of Brookville, OH; brothers Bob (Wanda) of Eldorado, Ron (Peggy) of West Manchester; sisters Sue Hall (fiancée Chuck Stump) & Kathy (Forrest) Leyes of West Manchester, Marie (Jim) Wilson of Eaton; father-in-law Raymond Smith & brother-in-law Don (Liz) Smith of Eaton; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18 at the Bussard-Barnes-Vaniman Funeral Home, 311 N. Main St., Eldorado, OH with Pastor Michael Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at Ware’s Chapel Cemetery near West Manchester, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the family via Guest Book at www.barnesfuneralhome.com.
