Wilbur L. O'Dell

Wilbur L. O'dell, age 80 of Lewisburg, Ohio died Saturday, September 18, 2004 at his residence. Born on March 31, 1924 in Preble County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Howard J. & Mabel (Sellers) O'dell. Wilbur graduated from Verona High School in 1942 and joined Inland Manufacturing - Division of General Motors later that year. He married Doris Jane Miller on June 26, 1943. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on July 13, 1944 serving with the 2nd Armored Division during WW II and was honorably discharged on February 3, 1946. Wilbur retired in 1980 from General Motors as a General Supervisor after 38 years of dedicated service. Wilbur was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and neighbor and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Preceded in death by his Brother: Richard O'dell.

Survived by his Wife of 61 years: Doris Jane (Miller) O'dell; Sons & Daughters-in-law: Dennis & Ann O'dell, Brookville, Ohio, Greg & Stephanie O'dell, Lewisburg, Ohio; Daughter & Son-in-law: Debra & Gary Strawsburg, Lewisburg, Ohio; Sisters: Francine Baker, Lewisburg, Ohio, Mary Elaine Weidner and Sara Gray, both of Arcanum Ohio, Jeanette Ashworth, Beavercreek, Ohio, Charlotte Weinzierl, Livonia, Michigan; Brothers: Kenneth DeWitt O'dell, Brookville, Ohio, Howard O'dell, Jr., Arcanum, Ohio. 6 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren. Many Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 - 1:00 P.M. at the Barnes Funeral Home - 411 North Commerce Street - Lewisburg, Ohio with Rev. David O. Justis officiating. Interment will be held in Ithaca Cemetery, Ithaca, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 from 5 - 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
