WARREN H. FRY, age 89, formerly of Richmond, Indiana, died on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at home in Campbellstown, Ohio. Born on November 7, 1920 in Spartansburg, Indiana, he is the son of the late Walter W. & Norma May (Allen) Fry. Warren proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sgt. Tec 4 in the 151st Quarter Master Division. Warren was at Pearl Harbor during the attack on December 7, 1941. Warren retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1972 after 30 years as a Conductor. Lifetime member of the VFW in Greenville, Ohio. Member of the American Legion, Clarence Teaford Post 360 in New Paris, Ohio. Warren was an Professional Pool Player who at one time was ranked 7th in Indiana. Warren loved to fish and work in his garden.
Preceded by former wife, Bettie J. (Yates) Fry in 1999; brothers, Vern Fry, Calvin "Cal" Fry, John Fry, Walter "Buck" Fry, Kenneth Fry; sisters, Pauline McClure, Edith Lakes, Margarete Greene, Percilla Ramsey, Sadie Manning, Irene Fry and Eva Marie Fry; son, Kenneth "Kenny" Fry in 2010.
Survived by his daughters, Sherry L. Fry & companion Ron Carey of Richmond, Indiana, Toni Finnerty of Philo, Ohio and Patricia Straszheim of Richmond, Indiana; grandchildren, Lori Ann Creech, Ronnie Morris, Amy Jo Cooper, Tim Reynolds, Sean Finnerty, John Finnerty, Marie Finnerty, Dawn Cody, Dana Smith, Ronnie Sabados and Rick Sabados; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a very dear friend, Lee McManigal of Richmond, Indiana; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio 45347 with Chaplain David Garman officiating. Interment will be in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard.
Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to One's Favorite Charity. Condolences may be sent to the family via the guest book at www.barnesfuneralhome.com
