Virginia A. Coblentz

VIRGINIA A. COBLENTZ, age 89 of New Paris, Ohio died Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Rosegate Village in Richmond, Indiana. Born on May 22, 1915 in Stout, Adams County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Thomas P. & Edith E. (Young) Armstrong. She was a 1933 Blue Creek High School graduate and a graduate of Wilmington College and had attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She retired after 31 years as a school teacher having taught at Jefferson Twp. Elementary and Middle School. She had also taught at Jackson and Eaton. Member of the Presbyterian Church in New Paris, Preble County Retired Teachers Association, Member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star #310 in New Paris, Tuesday Club, Triple L, Preble County Board of Health and former member of the Sylvan Garden Club. Preceded in death by Husband: Emil D. Coblentz in 1996; Brother: Don Armstrong and Sisters: Mary Rhoades and Louise Armstrong .

Survived by Daughter & Son-in-law: Dorita & Ronald Bow, Lexington, Kentucky; Son & Daughter-in-law: Arlo & Jeannie Coblentz, New Paris, Ohio; Sister: Dorothy Arey, Peebles, Ohio,; 5 Grandchildren and 1 Great Granddaughter.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. (Ohio time) on Monday, May 16, 2005 at Barnes Funeral Home -109 West Main Street-New Paris, Ohio with Dr. William P. Anderson and Rev. Jerry Westfall officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 15, 2005 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. (Ohio time) at the funeral home with Eastern Star Service at 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
