VIRGIL E. EIKENBERRY, 87, of Eaton, Ohio, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Grandview Hospital in Dayton. He was born on May 6, 1922 near Eaton, Ohio, son of the late Frank M. & Emma(Aukerman) Eikenberry. He was a 1939 graduate of Eaton High School and was a life long farmer in Gasper and Wahington Townships. In 1992 he retired from Eikenberry Refrigeration where he was a serviceman for 35 years. Member of the Lower Twin Old German Baptist Church near Camden. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Everett Aukerman Eikenberry in 2000 and his sister, Gladys Elizabeth Eikenberry in 1989.

Survived by his wife of 64 years, Clara Jane (Curnutt) Eikenberry; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald E. & Carolyn Eikenberry of Brookville, Ohio and Dale Alan & Janet Eikenberry of Arcanum, Ohio; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay Jane & David Oyler of Eaton, Karen Sue & George Wolf and Kristine Ann & Randall Mohler both of Quinter, Kansas; 22 grandchildren, 25 great granchildren and 1 great great grandchild; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Lower Twin Old German Baptist Church, 6715 Quaker Trace Rd., Camden, Ohio 45311 with the Old German Baptist Brethren officiating. Interment will be held in Lower Twin Old German Baptist Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio.
