Vera R. Hays

Vera R. (Williams) Hays, 94, of North Fort Myers, FL, and formerly of Fairhaven (Preble County) OH, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Gulf Coast Medical Center, Fort Myers, FL. Born on April 22, 1919 in Williamsburg, IN, she was the daughter of the late Blaine & Maude (Stephens) Williams.

Vera was a 1937 graduate of Williamsburg, IN High School; she was part of the Library staff of Western College of Women in Oxford and retired in 1979 from the resource center for Eaton City Schools. She was a former member of the Fairhaven Community Church and current member of Northside Baptist Church in North Fort Myers, FL.

Preceded in death by Husband: Robert E. Hays, Sr. in 2011; Sons: James Stephen Hays in 1947 and John Douglas Hays in 1951; Brother: Junior Leon Williams in 1976.

Survived by Son: Robert E. "Bobby" Hays, Jr., North Fort Myers, FL; Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Linda & Randy Fetters, Lakewood Ranch, FL and Kimberly & Ron Stubblefield, Columbus, OH; 2 Grandchildren: Renee Nicole (Ben) Teater of Georgia and Erick Hays Crowe of Eaton, OH; 2 Great Grandchildren: Makayla and Benson Teater.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Fairhaven Community Church, 6585 Israel Somers Road, Camden, Ohio with Pastor Don Grady and Dr. Richard F. Studebaker officiating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Fairhaven, OH. Family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
