Vaughn K. Oburn, 68, of Eaton, OH died Thursday, April 26, 2018 in Edgewood, KY. Born on August 25, 1949 in Troy, OH, he was the son of the late Carl A. and Mary G. (Maggart) Oburn. Vaughn graduated from West Milton High School and served in the U.S. Air Force as a Military Policeman. After his duty in the Air Force he chose to work in law enforcement. He retired in 2005 as Assistant Police Chief from the City of Eaton Police Department after 30 years in law enforcement. Vaughn had formerly worked for the Brookville and New Lebanon Police Departments. Vaughn was a member of the Eaton Church of The Brethren and was active in many church related activities including BSF in Richmond, IN for many years, a support staff member of Barnes Funeral Home since 2007, member of Brookville Corvette Club, Richmond Harley Club and enjoyed working in and around the house.
In addition to his parents Vaughn is preceded in death by his sister, Karla Burke and granddaughter, Blake Morton.
Survived by Wife of 17 years: Diana (Flora) Oburn; Daughters, Abby Oburn, Charity (John) Morton and Summer Riddle; sons, Alex (Tammy) Oburn and Benjamin Oburn; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Jonathan (Deborah) Flora and Mike Burke; three granddaughters; two grandsons; two nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Eaton Church of the Brethren, 813 Camden Rd, Eaton, OH 45320 with Pastors Dan Denlinger and Stan Van Ausdal officiating. Family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 P.M. at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements Entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, Eaton, OH.
