Thomas D. Pearson

Thomas D. Pearson, age 81, of New Hope, OH, died on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at his residence. Born on August 7, 1929 in Phillipsburg, OH, son of the late Donald E. & Mary (DeWeese) Pearson. He worked for Denlinger's Garage in Dayton, OH, Slyder's Western Shop in Brookville, OH, and Lutz's Rodeo Shop in Eaton, OH. Thomas also was the North Central Regional Advisor for the National Hot Rod Association in the late 50's and early 60's. He started Rodeoing in the Mid 60's then became a judge for many Rodeo's in the mid 70's and went on to announce Rodeo's in the 80's for the Mid States Rodeo Association.

Thomas proudly served as a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. Member of the American Legion post 215 in Eaton, OH and the VFW post 3288 in Brookville, OH.

Preceded in death by his wife, Donna L. (Scott) Pearson in 2004; brother, George Pearson in 1987; grandson, Thomas Dale Pearson in 1978.

Survived by his sweetheart for many years, Eva Busby of New Hope, OH; son & daughter-in-law, Thomas L. & Dawn Pearson; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy & Ken Brinkley; brother & sister-in-law, Fredric & Ann Pearson of Traverse City, MI; sisters, Sharon Arent of Lewisburg, OH and Mary Jane Coates of Hamilton, OH; granddaughter, Teresa (Travis) Redmon; great grandson, Ethan Cooley; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be 12:00 pm, Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH with Rev. David Justis officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg, OH with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard.
