Theresa Ann (Grigsby) Shisler, age 66, of Lewisburg, Ohio, passed away Monday, November 19, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio after a lengthy illness. Born on February 17, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John & Lucinda (Richie) Grigsby. She graduated in 1959 from Breathitt County High School in Jackson, Kentucky, graduated in 1967 from Morehead College in Kentucky with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education, graduated in 1973 from University of Dayton in Ohio with a Master Degree in Administration. She was a 2nd grade teacher for 1 year in Zanesville, Ohio and 36 years in New Lebanon, Ohio. She was a principal for 16 years at Dixie Elementary School in New Lebanon, Ohio. Theresa retired in 2001 after 37 years in Education. She was a member of the Delta Theta Tau Chapter of Lewisburg, Ohio for 34 years. She was a long standing member and past president of the Preble County School Board and Montgomery County CTC for many years. Theresa was a avid donor to many charities and loved to travel and shop.
Preceded in death by her brothers, Orville Grigsby, Herman Grigsby and John Grigsby, Jr.; sisters, Carrie Hunt, Dallas Landrum and Treva Collins; brother-in-law, David Watts; great grandchildren, Katherine M. Stacy and Jacob A. Stacy both in 2007.
Survived by her husband of 8 years, Charles L. Shisler of Lewisburg; children & spouses, Elizabeth & Scott Childers of El Paso, Texas, Brian & Angela Carpenter of West Alexandria, Ohio, Cheryl & Galen Brewer of West Milton, Ohio, Sharon Marks of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Karen & David Ermlich of Eaton, Ohio, Charles & Kristina Shisler of Greenville, Ohio and Amanda & Timothy Gebhart of Brookville, Ohio; sister, Gene Watts of Bowling Green, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Thomas Collins of Lexington, Kentucky; sisters-in-law, Pearl Grigsby of Jackson, Kentucky and Geneva Grigsby of London, Kentucky; 29 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Barnes Funeral Home - 411 North Commerce Street - Lewisburg, Ohio 45338. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 2007 at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg, Ohio.
