Theodore H. "Ted" Lybrook

Theodore Huston Lybrook, age 59, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by family and loved ones on Monday, December 30th, 2024. His presence touched the lives of everyone who knew him, and his absence leaves a profound void in our hearts.

Born on September 21st, 1965 in Hamilton, Ohio, Ted grew up with a deep connection to the land, taking over the family farm to honor generations of dedication and commitment. He transformed the farm into not just a livelihood, but a legacy. Ted was a 1983 graduate of Eaton High School and proud alumnus of Miami University. Ted carried the spirit of the Miami Redskins in his heart, remaining a loyal fan of his alma mater throughout his life. Despite occasional grumbling, he was a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. Ted proudly served as the Fiscal Officer for Israel Township, was an avid supporter of the Preble County Junior Fair, loved NASCAR, cycling, and spending time boating on the lake. 

Ted is survived by his loving mother, Janet (Smith) Lybrook; his sister and closest confidant, Karen Lybrook; his cherished brother, Tony Lybrook, who always put a smile on his face; his beloved partner, Cindy Kaufman, whose love and support brightened his every day; his cherished son, Nicholas Kaufman, who was his pride and joy; his two nieces, Ashley & Abigail Riegert, whom he adored. He also leaves behind his Uncle Jon Smith, many loving cousins, lake house friends, and the Israel Township farming community. Ted was preceded in death by his mentor and role model, father, Bill Lybrook.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio. The interment will be held in Fairhaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
