Terry W. Gadd, age 63, of Gratis Township, Preble County, OH went home to be with the Lord on Friday afternoon, April 23, 2010 at his residence after a 14 month battle with brain cancer. Born on December 2, 1946 he was the son of William R. & Bernice (Andrews) Gadd of Camden, Ohio. Terry graduated from Shawnee H.S. in 1964 and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired in 1998 from General Motors after 33 years of service. During 1977 to 1980 he served as the Mayor of West Elkton. Member of the Gateway Baptist Church in Eaton, OH. he was saved by the blood of Jesus Christ in December 1973. He loved the Word of God and spent many years teaching Sunday School and helping lead Bible studies with other men at work. He was also active in jail ministry at the Preble County Jail.
Survivors include: Wife of 45 years: Linda F. (Smith) Gadd; Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Tricia & Brian Jonson of Fairfield, OH and Tracy & Jeff Trammel of Mainville, OH. Son & Daughter-In-Law: Tim & Christy Gadd of Monroe, OH; Mother-In-Law: Faye Slusher of Camden, OH; Brothers: Rev. Michael Gadd of Camden, OH and Steve Gadd of Debarry, FL; Sisters: Connie Geeding of Hamilton, OH and Donna Moles of West Alexandria, OH. 8 Grandchildren: Noah Jonson, Drew Gadd, Nathan Jonson, Elaina Gadd, Natalie Jonson, Elle Gadd, Wyatt Trammel, Cody Trammel.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M Wednesday April 28, 2010 at Higher Heights Church of God – 8111 U.S. 127 South – Camden, OH with Pastor Ron Sparks officiating. Interment will be in the Fairmound Cemetery at West Elkton, OH with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Gateway Baptist Church Bible Fund – 705 North Barron Street – Eaton, Ohio 45320 Arrangements entrusted to Barnes Funeral Homes, Inc. – Eaton, OH.
