Sylvia A. Purdy

SYLVIA A. PURDY, 72, of West Elkton, OH, died Sunday, August 25, 2013 at McCullough-Hyde Hospital in Oxford, OH. She was born on March 30, 1941 in Wise County, VA, daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Georgia (Hill) Blevins. Sylvia was a graduate of East Stone High School in East Stone, VA and was a retired bus driver for Preble Shawnee where she drove for 29 years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, arts and crafts, traveling and laughing and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by brothers, Jerry and Ronald Blevins.

Sylvia is survived by her husband of 44 years, Raymond "Ray" D. Purdy; children and spouses, Archie (Gertrude Acker) Basler, Annette (Mike Little) Basler, Michelle (Jim) Kozerski and Brian (Nicole) Purdy; grandchildren, Carl Manns, Chris Manns, Chelsea (Tom Cradler) Manns, Jimmy Purdy, Zack Kozerski, Kaci Purdy, Caitlyn Kozerski and Ryan Purdy; great grandchildren, Nicholas Manns, Cadence Manns and Easton Cradler; brothers and sisters, Jimmie( Ann) Blevins, Dorothy(Roy) Hamilton, Ben (Maggie) Blevins, Michael (Linda) Blevins, Steve (Phyllis) Blevins, Phyllis (Ferdinand) Jose, Johnny (Kim) Blevins and Mary Lynn (Delmer) Caudill; nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nein-Barnes Funeral Home, 249 North Main Street, Camden, Ohio. The funeral service will immediately follow at 8:00 p.m.
