Shirley Lawson

Shirley Lawson, age 72, of New Paris, Ohio, died Friday, February 22, 2013 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Born on April 5, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Earl & Maggie Edith (Mason) Parrett. Member of the Gospel Baptist Church of New Paris, Ohio.

Preceded in death by husband, Ova Junior Lawson in 1997; brother, Jim Parrett; sisters, Doris, Sarah and Maple.

Survived by sons & daughters-in-law, Chuck & Trish Key of New Paris, Ohio, Ed (Tami) Myers of Vandalia, Ohio, Tim & Kelly Myers of Camarillo, California and Greg & Denise Lawson of Lewisburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Jason, Jamie, Andrew, Grantland, Cayce, Benjamin and Evan; great grandchildren, Micah, Christopher, Kiley and Cameron; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Gospel Baptist Church, the corner of Walnut Street and High Street in New Paris, Ohio with Rev. Gilmer Smith officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio.
