Ruth E. Guthrie Wagner

Ruth E. Guthrie Wagner age 97 of Phoenix, AZ. and formerly of Eaton, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, in Phoenix, AZ.

Ruth was born on June 19, 1926, in Sellersville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Charles K. & Mary E. (Wolfinger) Barndt. She graduated from the Jefferson College School of Nursing in 1946. Moving to Eaton in 1951, Ruth and her husband Rev. Ellis G. Guthrie were called to minister to the members of Eaton Church of the Brethren, retiring in 1989.

Ruth was preceded in death by her 1^st Husband: Rev. Ellis G. Guthrie in 1990 and 2^nd Husband: John Wagner in 2013; Brother: Charles K. Barndt in 1987.

Survived by her children: Barbara & Ralph Buzbee of Phoenix, AZ., Sharon & Jim Main of Peoria, AZ, Renita & Mark Ellington of Ft. Wayne, IN, Joel & Cynde Guthrie of Eaton, OH. 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren 1 great great grandson.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday September 2, 2023, at Barnes Funeral Home – 220 East Main Street – Eaton, Ohio. The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mound Hill Cemetery – Eaton, Ohio.
