Ruth Taulbee

Ruth Taulbee of New Paris, OH, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at her residence, at the age of 95 years, 4 months, and 23 days. She was born on Friday, December 13, 1918 at Grassy Creek, KY, daughter of the late William Jesse & Angeline Bush Havens.

Ruth was united in marriage to Elbert Taulbee. This union was blessed with eight children. She was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She was a Christian and a member of the Victory Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Taulbee; one daughter, Diane Johnson; sons-in-law, C.W. Ratliff & Kent Thompson; and one grandson, Raymond Mark McCoy.

She is survived by seven children, Lurleen Ratliff of Paris, KY, Elda Lee Ratliff of Carlisle, KY, Louise Harper of Richmond, IN, Janet Thompson of Mt. sterling, KY, Norma Gay McCoy of Stanton, KY, Edward Taulbee of New Paris, OH, and Timothy Wayne Taulbee of Eaton, OH; eighteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, many great-great grandchildren; and many friends and loved ones.

Ruth was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Potter Funeral Home - 329 Glenn Avenue West Liberty, Ky 41472 with Bro. Joel McIntyre officiating. Burial to follow in the Grassy Lick Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Justin Carter, Josh Carter, Jake Steele, Tony Steele, Keith Carter, Michael Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, Christian Johnson, Jordan Johnson, and Ricky Ratliff.
