Ruth G. Doty

RUTH G. DOTY, 96, of Eaton, Ohio, died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton. Born on August 28, 1913 in College Corner, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Henry & Hester (Grove) Strothman. Ruth was a 1931 graduate of Dixon High School and took art classes at Miami University in Oxford. She was a member of the Prices Creek Church of the Brethren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold H. Doty in 2007; son, Gary Lee Doty in 1986; sisters, Mildred Aukerman in 1976 and Helen White in 1980; brother, Henry Strothman in 2000.

Ruth is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Kevin & Cindy Doty of Huntsville, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Jan Doty of Williamsburg, Indiana; sister, Violet Hammel of Lewisburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Renee Doty of Williamsburg, Indiana, Brian (Michelle) Doty of Richmond, Kentucky and Gina Doty Waddle of New Paris, Ohio; great grandchildren, Campbell and Matthew Doty, Chloe and Brenden Waddle, Eaton, Ohio.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Don King officiating. Interment will be held in Goshen Cemetery in Richmond, Indiana. Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 10, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
