Ruth E. Sell

RUTH E. SELL, age 93, formerly of Eaton, Ohio died Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at Brookhaven Nursing and Care Center in Brookville, Ohio where she had been a resident since 1995. Born on July 7, 1911 in Washington Township, Preble County, Ohio the daughter of the late Willard F. & Edith (Crowell) Leach. She was a graduate of Monroe Township School, attended Miami University and taught third grade in Monroe School for a brief period of time. In 1932, she married Harold V. Sell and resided in Eldorado, OH from 1932 to 1951. The Sells moved to Eaton in 1951 where Ruth was a member of Delta Theta Tau and the Eaton Country Club. In 1973, they retired to Sarasota, Florida returning to Ohio in 1995 to live their final years at Brookhaven Life Care Community in Brookville, Ohio. Ruth was a former member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Eldorado, St. Paul United Methodist Church of Eaton; Trinity United Methodist Church in Sarasota, FL and the First United Methodist Church of Brookville, OH. Preceded in death by husband: Harold V. Sell in 2003; sisters: Margaret Folkerth and Mildred White.<br><br>Survived by daughters & sons-in-law: Ione & Allen A. Hiestand and Marilyn J. & L. Jack Moore all of Eaton, OH; grandchildren: Michael Moore of Newbury Park, CA, Lisa (Moore) Swartsell of Eaton, OH, Martin Moore of Scottsdale, AZ, Michele Hiestand and Laura Emrick both of Eaton, OH; great grandchildren: <br>Andrew Moore of Peoria, AZ, Kristina (Moore) Jackson and Blaine Moore both of Eaton, OH, Amy, Stephen and Blake Moore of Mesa, AZ, Justin Swartsell of Vermillion, OH, Kristin (Swartsell) Pettitt of Eaton, OH, Bradley and Jared Emrick of Eaton, OH; great great grandchildren: Drew and Kylee Moore of AZ, Alex and Dylan Jackson and A.J. Swartsell all of Eaton, OH.<br><br>Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Hal Copley of Brookhaven and Rev. Jack Moore officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery - Eaton, OH. Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 9, 2005 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity.
