Ruth E. Ehler

RUTH E. EHLER, age 105 of Friends Fellowship in Richmond, died Friday, April 30, 2010 in Richmond. Born on November 19, 1904 in Enterprise, OH, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. & Eva (Young) Ehler. A native of Enterprise, she had lived in Cincinnati for 73 years prior to moving to Friends Fellowship in 1995. She was a Plant Nurse for Proctor & Gamble, retiring in 1969. A 1922 graduate of Lanier High School, 1926 graduate of General Hospital in Cincinnati, 1932 graduate of the University of Cincinnati School of Nursing, 1926 to 1944 she had worked at General Hospital & private duty nursing, 1969 she became active in the U.C. Alumni Association, American Red Cross Volunteer, in 1984 she helped establish the U.C. Nursing Library, member of the First English Lutheran Church in Richmond, and she was a long time member of the Norwood English Lutheran Church in Cincinnati.

Preceded in death by sister, Martha Caroline Bailey in 1982; brother, Paul Ehler in 1996; half brother, Roy Ehler in 1957.

Survivors include her niece, Betty (Robert) Pickett, New Paris, OH; nephews, Myron (Marilyn) Bailey, Muskegon, MI, Thomas (Erica) Ehler & Daniel (Rose) Ehler both of Greenwich, OH; great nieces & nephews, great great nieces & nephews, great great great nieces & nephews.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the First English Lutheran Church, 2727 East Main Street, Richmond, Indiana 47374 followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Walker officiating. Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria, OH. Arrangements Entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio 45320.
