Russell M. Ebersole

Russell M. Ebersole, 94, of Eldorado, OH passed away Thursday, August 11, 2005 at Rose Gate Village in Richmond, Indiana. Russell was born on March 18, 1911 the son of the late Milton & Myrtle (Hubbler) Ebersole. He was the oldest Preble County WW II Navy veteran and was a retired Carpenter working for the Village of Eldorado for over 50 years. Life member of American Legion Post 665 of West Manchester, Ohio. He was a long time member of the Eldorado Fire Department and served on the Board of Public Affairs for the Village of Eldorado. Preceded in death by wife: Erma (Brasier) Ebersole in 1970; Daughter: Sarah Jane Longnecker; sons: Jack Ebersole and Jim Ebersole; sister: Eva Shiverdecker and brother: Chester Ebersole.

Survivors: daughter: Barbara Klinger of West Alexandria, Ohio; sons: Richard Ebersole of McConnelsville, Ohio and Homer Ebersole of New Paris, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 15, 2005 - 1:00 PM at the Bussard-Barnes-Vaniman Funeral Home, 311 N. Main St., Eldorado, OH with Rev. Ray Michel officiating. Burial will be at Monroe Cemetery south of Eldorado with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard.
