Rosetta E. Smith

Rosetta E. Smith, age 96 of New Paris, Ohio died Thursday, October 30, 2003 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana after an extended Illness. Born on March 3, 1907 in Preble County, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Roy & Bertha (Trotwine) Wise. She was a 1925 Jefferson High School graduate and retired in 1967 from the Dana Corporation in Richmond after 26 years of service. Member of the 25 Year Club of Dana; St. Paul United Methodist Church serving as a Sunday School Teacher; United Methodist Women’s Organization; Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Clarence Teaford Post # 360.

Preceded in death by Husband: Earl Smith in 1962; Son: Paul “Fred” Fredrick Smith in 1991; Brothers: Wesley Wise, Samuel Wise, Lester Wise and Ralph Wise; Sisters: Mabel Hoover and Nora Martin.

Survivors: Sons & Daughters-in- law: Julian Ralph & Rose Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio and Lowell Edward “Pete” & Marilyn Smith of New Paris, Ohio; Daughter-In-Law: Marie Smith Snyder of Dayton, Ohio; Brother & Sister-In-Law: Roy Emerson & Betty Wise of Huber Heights, Ohio; Sisters-In-Law: Elsie Wise of New Paris, Ohio, “Teddy” Wise of Eaton, Ohio and Betty Wise of Florida. 11 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, 14 Great Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2003 - 2:00 P.M. at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with Rev. LaDonna Clary officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday, November 3, 2003 from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio.
