Rosetta B. Mcnees

Rosetta Belle Hill - McNees was born June 3, 1928, in Eaton Ohio, to Claude and Cleoph Apple- Hill and passed away December 23, 2010 in Wayne County Indiana.

She was a prolific artist that has her art displayed in many local businesses and galleries, also New York City, Boston Massachusetts and Flint Michigan. Her education was from Eaton High School, Bowling Green University, Miami University, and The Famous Artist School with private training from artists John Pike, Bob Brubaker, and Ray Harm. Along with these artist, she was a member of the American Watercolor Society. She was instrumental in the formation of the Preble County Art Association and the building of the Preble Co. Fine Art Center. Rosie judged many Art Shows in the area as well as at the Kentucky State Fair. She was awarded over 600 Art Awards in professional competitions during her career. She was named "Woman of the year 1989" by Women's Business and Professional Assoc.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband George McNees and one brother, Donald Hill.

Survivors include; Sisters Carol Hill-Hafle (Herschel), Patricia Hill-Duke (Dan), Brother Dan Hill (Martha), and sister in law Ada Hill. Also, Nephews and nieces; Scott and Steve Hafle, Sue Hafle-Singleton, Sheryl Hafle-Brownlee (Rick), Brad Duke (Kari) and Darrin Duke (Karrie), Anthony Hill (Johnna), Wendy Hill-Howell (Rick), Brad Davis (Katrina), Brett Hill (Sarah).

A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family through arrangements by Barnes Funeral Home in Eaton. Burial will be in Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton Ohio
