Roscoe Holsinger, Jr.

ROSCOE HOLSINGER, JR., age 83, of Eaton, Ohio died January 14, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton. Born on June 29, 1926 in Ohio, he was the son of the late Roscoe & Mamie (Dixon) Holsinger, Sr. Roscoe was a Crane Operator at AK Steel for 38 years. Roscoe proudly served in the U. S. Navy on the Aircraft Carrier USS Chenango in the Pacific during World War II.

Preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond, Leroy and David Holsinger.

Survived by his wife of 62 years, Alma Elizabeth (Porter) Holsinger of Eaton, Ohio; daughters, Mary E. Thompson of New Lebanon, Ohio and Sharon Atkinson of Eaton, Ohio; brothers, Russell, Carl, John, and Joe Holsinger; sister, Laura Faye Bobo; grandchildren, Samuel & Heather Atkinson, Amber & Chris Fogle, Molly & Mark Elliot, Andrew & Jennifer Hawk and Eva Thompson & Will Collins; great grandchildren, Harmony Atkinson, Tori Studebaker, Anna Collins, Malakai Collins, Brennan Fogle, Ross Fogle, Claire Fogle, Nathanial Jay, Andrew Jay, Scott Elliot and Tyler Weatherly.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio 45320 with Rev. Gary Arthurs officiating. Family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the funeral home.

Interment will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Dayton National Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard.
