Rodney L. Smith

Rodney L. Smith, age 51 of New Paris, Ohio died Thursday, July 14, 2005 at his residence. Born on December 28, 1953 in Wayne County, Indiana he was the son of the late Billy D. & Patty Mae (Cruze) Smith. Rodney served with the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post in New Paris, OH. He had worked at Parker-Hannifin Corp. in Eaton for over 30 years. He loved making music on his guitar, was a avid coon hunter and fisherman, but his life love was being a PaPaw. Preceded in death by a son: Eric D. Smith in 2002 and sister: Nora B. Cope in 2003.

Survived by wife of 31 years: Judy R. (Barr) Smith; Daughter: Rhiannon Wilson of New Paris, Ohio. Brother: Jay Cruze of Eaton, OH.; 4 Grandchildren: Billie (doodle bug), Kendra (princess), Hannah (fuzzy butt) and Elijah (brother). Several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, July 20, 2005 - 2:00 PM (Ohio Time) at the Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Pastor Curt Duncan officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 - 12:00 to 2:00 PM (Ohio Time) at the funeral home.
