Robert W. Foster

ROBERT W. FOSTER, 91 of Eaton, OH died Friday, August 9, 2013 at VA Hospice. He was born on November 15, 1921 in Knightstown, IN, son of Herschel & Helen (Risk) Foster. Robert was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving during WWII, with a deployment to Italy.

On March 8, 1946 he married Georgia E. Dyer, who survives. Also survived by children, Stuart Foster, Sallie (Dennis) Buckalew, and Mary (Bruce) Holman; seven grandchildren, Robert (Brianne) Foster, Nick, Dan (Mary), and Kate Buckalew; and Noah, George and Helen Holman. Survivors also include great granddaughters, Chesney Foster and Audrey Buckalew; brothers, Gene Foster and C. Ed Foster, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, George R. and Max S. Foster, sisters, Doris Carpenter and Norma James.

Robert graduated from Indiana University and started his teaching career in Greenfield, IN before moving to Yellow Springs, OH, and finally to Eaton where he worked in the County Schools office for nine years before becoming principal at Dixon Israel Schools, retiring in 1982.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH with Rev. Mark Gardner officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton, OH with Military Honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard.
