Robert Stewart Jackson passed away January 21, 2014, after an extended illness. He was born on December 28, 1934, in Dixon Township, Preble County, to James L. Jr., and Velma (Stewart) Jackson. He graduated from Dixon High School, Class of 1952 and married Marilyn Napier, June 23, 1957, in Union County, Indiana. Bob was a lifelong Israel Township farmer; member of Concord United Church of Christ and proudly served on the College Corner Volunteer Fire Department for 21 years, He was a member and President of the Preble County Fair Board for 24 years, an Israel Township Trustee for 12 years and was involved in numerous community activities. Bob loved sports and played slow-pitch softball and bowled in leagues. He enjoyed Nascar, Ohio State football and basketball, Miami University basketball and attending grandchildren's activities
He is survived by his wife Marilyn; sister Mary Lou Jackson, of Camden, OH; children, Bob Jackson, of Columbus, IN, Lisa O'Leary, of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Don (Beth) Jackson, of Camden, OH, and Tom (Dana) Jackson, of Media, PA; Grandchildren Brien (Jessica) Jackson, Dan Jackson, Craig Jackson, Miranda Finch and Mathew Finch; Great Grandchildren, Blake and Dylan Jackson and Zack Graff; Nephews, Nieces, Cousins.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and brother, James L. Jackson III.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Fairhaven Community Church, 6585 Israel-Somers Rd, Camden, Ohio with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Richard Studebaker and Rev. James Sizelove officiating. Interment will be held in the Fairhaven Cemetery in Fairhaven. Arrangements entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, Eaton, Ohio.
