Robert L. Mckee

Robert L. "Shorty" McKee age 86 of Eaton Ohio died Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Born on November 17, 1925 in Preble County, Ohio he was the son of the late Dennis G. & Lula Eversole McKee. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII. He was awarded the Bronze Star for heroic achievement in Germany as a Medic. He was a general contract carpenter.

Preceded in death by a sister: E. Lucille Cail in 2011.

Survived by his wife of 63 years: Vera E. (Carson) McKee. Sons: Robert M. (Rosemary) McKee; James J. McKee; Dennis P. (Susi) McKee; Christopher A. McKee and Andrew E. (Mary) McKee. Brothers: Edward McKee; and Dennis "Tug" McKee. Sister: Linda Kipp. Grandchildren: Carson McKee, Jimmy McKee, Erin (Michael) Bradburn, Keenan (Kelly) McKee, Zak McKee, Rachel Meffert, Michael McKee, Tyler W.A. McKee, Andrew J. McKee. Eleven (11) great grandchildren, step grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Barnes Funeral Home 220 East Main Street Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Reggie Osborn officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday July 11, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton, OH with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Research.
