Robert L. Braughton

ROBERT L. BRAUGHTON, age 72 of New Paris, Ohio died Saturday, December 14, 2002 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Born on April 21, 1930 in New Paris, Ohio he was the son of the late Henry T. & Lucille M. (Cowgill) Braughton. A life long Preble County resident, he retired in 1994 after 42 years at Alcoa in Richmond, Indiana. Member of the 25 Year Club at Alcoa, a U.S. Army Korean Conflict veteran, VFW of Richmond, Indiana and American Legion Post #360 in New Paris and Oddfellows of Richmond, Indiana, member of the Harrison Street Baptist Church in New Madison, Ohio. Preceded in death by Brother: Gary Lee Braughton.

Survived by Wife of 50 years: Ruth D. (Anderson) Braughton; Daughters & Son-in-law: Pam Dillon, Fairport, New York, Connie & Rick Martin, Eaton, Ohio; Brothers: William Braughton, Camby, Indiana, Herschel Braughton, Eaton, Ohio; Sisters: Joann Moore, New Paris, Ohio, Verna Jean Arden, Richmond, Indiana, Linda Johnson, New Paris, Ohio; 6 Grandsons: Mark Davis, Ryan, Justin & Josh Dillon, Cory & Kyle Herrmann; Great Granddaughter: Morgan Davis, Great Grandson: Cole Herrmann, Special Friends: Olin Moore, Richmond, Indiana and Jerry Bault, Marion, Ohio.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2002 - 11:00 a.m. at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio with his Grandson Pastor Kyle Herrmann and Pastor Chris Tannruther officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris with military graveside service by the Preble County Honor Guard.
