Robert J. Clayman

Robert Jessie Clayman, age 87, of New Paris, Ohio, died Saturday June 16, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Robert was born on January 12, 1925 in New Paris, Ohio, son of the late, George William & Mary Lou (Peters) Clayman. Robert had worked as a metal finisher for over 30 years.

Robert proudly served in the US Army as a Private during World War II where he received a Purple Heart.

Preceded in death by his Wife, Alice Laverne (Reed) Clayman in 2008; Brothers, James "Jack" Clayman in 1970, Raymond Clayman, Chester "Pete" Taylor in 2009; Sisters, Rosie E. Clayman in 1933 and Flora Hofacker in 2001.

Survivors include his Daughter & Son-in-law, Camilla & John Spencer of Winchester, Indiana; Sons, Nathan Clayman and Sam Clayman both of New Paris, Ohio; Grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica and Jamie; 13 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Lucille Pease of Eaton, Ohio; Brother & Sister-in-law, John & Celsa Clayman of Brownsfield, Texas; Brother-in-law, Herman Hofacker; Sister-in-law, Eula Taylor; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio 45347 with Rev. Charlie Rinehart officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard.
