Robert Gordon Dull, known to all as "Bob", born Tuesday, July 24, 1934 to Harold Emerson and Rubye Virginia Newcombe Dull in Richmond, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving sister, Wanda Jane Dull Shilt (husband Kenneth) and little brother Sonny Lee.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Catharine Ann Lounsbury Dull, his two sons, Scott Thomas Dull (wife Amy Williams Peck Dull) and Gregory Alan Dull (wife Lisa Diane Roberts Dull), and his loving grandchildren, Erin, Katie, Tristen, Logan Dull and Shelby J Peck. He is also survived by siblings Harold Joe Dull (wife Iris) and Johnny Mack Dull (wife Janet), niece and nephew Lisa Dull Robbins (husband Jesse) and Darin Dull [wife Shelia], and many great nieces and nephews.
Robert was a quiet soul; a friendly intellectual and lover of books. He lived life easily and always in his moment. He loved to devour important newspapers, garden, linger in art and science museums, and, of course, loved the company of his sons and grandchildren and later having family gatherings at the lake. Robert was a 1953 graduate of Eaton High School, Eaton, IN. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1955 serving in San Antonio, TX, and Germany. In 1963, Robert received his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary's University, San Antonio, TX and his Masters in Analytical Chemistry in 1969. During his college years in San Antonio, Robert worked part time at the Southwest Institute for Research and taught chemistry at the University of Our Lady of the Lake College. In 1969, Robert was employed as a senior research analytical chemist for Dow Chemical, Zionsville, IN. He retired after 24 years.
