Robert A. Young

ROBERT A. "BUD" YOUNG, 78, of Eaton, Ohio, died Tuesday August 24, 2010 at The Hospice of Dayton. Born on July 28, 1932 in Dayton, Ohio, Bud was a 1952 graduate of Eaton High School and a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Eaton. He was retired from Harrison Radiator where he was a model builder for 33 years. Following retirement, Bud worked at the Paul Plaugher Detective Agency, was a bailiff for the Eaton Municipal Court and was a special deputy with the Preble County Sheriff's office. Bud was a founding member and served 15 years on the Eaton Emergency Squad; member of the Bolivar Lodge # 82 F & AM and the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. He enjoyed woodworking, was an avid bowler, loved to play cards and was an amateur radio operator, WA8KRC.

Preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Havin (Hawley) Young died in 1979 and Francis Billman Young in 1957 and daughter Anita Kay Young in 1957.

Survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce Ann (Swope) Young; daughter and son-in-law, Kathi Ann & Mark Hostetter of Roanoke, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law, David F. & Dora Young of Fort Worth, Texas; grandson, Chad Allen Young of Fort Worth, Texas; granddaughters, Margaret Ann Yocam of Garland, Texas, Shana
(Steve) Harris of Fort Worth, Texas and Brandi Williams of Texas. Six great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2010 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio 45320 with Pastor Chris Farmer officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton, OH. Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Masonic Service will be at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
