Robert A. Crandall

Robert A. Crandall, age 70, of Eaton, Ohio, died on Friday, July 13, 2018 at his residence. He was born on October 18, 1947 in Richmond, Indiana, son the late Virgil and Dorothy Amelia (Hensley) Crandall. He was very well respected and known around Eaton as the “Phone Man” having worked as a Telephone Installer and Repairman for 43 and a half years for Century Link, formerly United of Ohio, Sprint-Embarque. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army. Member of the Eaton First Church of God and the American Legion Post #215 both in Eaton. For several years he served as a Troopmaster for Troop 100 of the Boy Scouts of America in Richmond, Indiana and enjoyed working with stained glass, camping and travelling.    In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his brothers, James, William and Richard Crandall and his sister, Melva Meyn.  

Bob is survived by wife of 30 years, Dawn (Mahoney) Crandall; son, Kevin Leitch Weisenborn; sister, Norma Barth; grandchildren, Kian J.M. Leitch, Aedan P.M. Leitch and Kiara M. Leitch; three step grandchildren, Adrien, Alexis and Layla; special grandson, Canyon Davis; nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life Service will at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Eaton First Church of God, 601 E. Lexington Rd., Eaton, Ohio with Pastor Jonathan Grubbs officiating. Inurnment will be held in Earlham Cemetery in Richmond, Indiana with Full Military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Saturday, one hour prior to service at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, Eaton,Ohio.
