Richard L. Schmidt

Richard L. Schmidt, 74, of Lewisburg, OH died Monday, June 15, 2015 in Columbus, OH. Born on May 6, 1941 in Dayton, OH, he was the son of the late Edward M. & Faye I. (Daugherty) Schmidt. Richard worked for Morris Home Furnishing, Rikes and Roberds, all of Dayton. He was a 1960 graduate of Brookville High School, a photographer for the Brookville Fire Department and was a member of the Lewisburg First United Church of Christ. Preceded in death by his sister: Mary Jane Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Judith E. "Judy" (Schmidt) Schmidt; son: Scott L. (Paula) Schmidt, Lewisburg, OH; Rebecca (Hoss Coberly), Wagenbach Eaton, OH; brothers-in-law: George Smith, Brookville, OH and Donald (Lynnette) Schmidt, West Alexandria, OH; grandchildren: Victoria, Hailee and Gabe; great granddaughter: Haislee; nieces and nephews; his beloved pets, Krispy, Belle, Shadow and Kitty Cats.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce St., Lewisburg, OH with Rev. David O. Justis officiating. Inurnment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1–4 P.M. prior to the service.
