Richard L. Miller

RICHARD L. “Tex” MILLER, age 68, of Eaton, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Born on August 5, 1937 in Preble County, Ohio, he was the son of the late James Fred & Mildred Ann (Cordes) Miller. Tex was a 1956 Eaton High School graduate and lettered in football, basketball, baseball, track & field. He had worked at NCR in Dayton for 19 years and was the owner/operator of D & J Amoco Gas Station in Eaton from 1975 to 1991. Founding member of the Over The Hill Gang and member of the Good Guys Club, National Street Rod Association, Little Pro Football of Eaton, Eaton Little League and Men’s softball coach. He had been involved in auto & drag strip racing and was the owner of the Tomahawker drag car. He attended Concord United Church of Christ. Preceded in death by Son: Gregory Scott Miller in 1972.

Survived by Wife: June K. (Burns) Miller; Daughter & Son-in-law: Dawn R. & Steve Orr, Eaton, Ohio; Granddaughters: Brooke, Brittnie & Bailey Gunsalus, Kaitlin & Alyssa Orr; Great Grandson: Drake Gunsalus.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at the Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Ronald L. Foulk officiating. Interment will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria, Ohio. Family will receive friends Friday, April 14, 2006 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
