Richard L. Cail, 91 of Eaton, OH, died Sunday, September 1, 2013 at his residence. Born on June 8, 1922 in Richmond, IN he was the son of the late Stanley G. & Katherine (Rhoads) Cail. Richard served in the 28th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during W.W. II at Normandy and received a Purple Heart in 1944 at France. He had worked at Barker Fireplace Shop and Wayne Works in Richmond, IN. Member of American Legion Post 215 of Eaton. Preceded in death by a son: Stanley J. Cail in 1991.
Survived by wife: Helen (Hunsucker) Cail; Daughters & sons-in-law: Diana K. & Bill Lutterman of New Castle, IN and Elaine & Mike McCabe of Thetford, VT; Sisters: Margretta Sourbeer and Virginia McCampbell both of Eaton, OH; 6 grandchildren: Beth Clark, Leah McMartin, Jay Lutterman, Caila McCabe, Max McCabe and Jack McCabe. 4 great grandchildren: Collin Meyer, Taylor Meyer, Meredith McMartin and Neil McMartin; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Springlawn Cemetery – New Paris, OH with Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Preble County Veterans Honor Guard.
