Richard A. Reed

RICHARD A. “DICK” REED, age 73, of Lewisburg, Ohio, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at his residence. Born on August 14, 1932 in Wengerlawn, Montgomery County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles & Elizabeth (Snider) Reed. He was a 1950 graduate of Brookville High School and served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was a retired model builder for Delco Products in Moraine, Ohio. He was a 50 year member of the Libanus Lodge #80 F & AM in Lewisburg and served as the Worshipful Master in 1970, member of the Palmyra Chapter #235 R.A.M. in Brookville, Ohio. Ideal Chapter #293 Order of Eastern Star in Lewisburg and member of the DAV and VFW, both of Lewisburg. He was active with the Little League and the Verona Lions Club. Member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lewisburg. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers: John Arthur in 1935 and Charles David in 1978.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Beverly (Emrick) Reed; Daughter & Son-in-law: Deborah S. & Ed Zumstein of Lewisburg; Sons & Daughters-in-law: Douglas A. & Kristi Reed of Grove City, Ohio and Richard “Rick” & Robin Reed of Bellbrook, Ohio; Grandchildren: David Reed, Middletown, Ohio, Michael Reed, Fairborn, Ohio, Matthew & Andrea Zumstein, both of Lewisburg, Ohio, Step Grandsons: Eric Wiete, Cincinnati, Ohio, Kyle Wiete, Bellbrook, Ohio. Sister-in-law: Beulah Reed, Fort Worth, TX; Brother-in-law & Wife: Don & Elaine Emrick, St. Cloud, FL. Nieces & Nephews, beloved pets: Missy Sue and Princess.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2006 at Barnes Funeral Home- 411 North Commerce Street- Lewisburg, Ohio with Rev. Brent L. Cavendish officiating. Interment will be held in Verona Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 13, 2006 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Masonic Services to be held at 8:45 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice of Dayton - 324 Wilmington Ave. - Dayton, Ohio 45420 or Trinity Lutheran Church - 511 North Commerce Street - Lewisburg, Ohio 45338.
