Rebecca Jane Kisling

Rebecca Jane Kisling, 71, daughter of Donald and Dr. Fanny Kisling, died August 14, 2022, at the home she loved and shared with her wife Janet Crelin in Eaton, Ohio. She was a 1969 graduate of Eaton High School who retired as a police lieutenant with the Miami University police department. While she was a good athlete, she preferred working around her home to games or working out. She enjoyed gardening, raising honeybees and monarch butterflies. She shared her cross- stitched pictures with many of her friends and family. And as her step-grandchildren would say, “She’s the best cooker”. Traveling with her step- family, Jessica, Jeremy, Jordan and Jonathan Peck was one of her greatest joys.

Rebecca asked that her sisters Karen and Suzanne Kisling, her cousins Gary Spencer and Rick Gade, her friends Mary Bullen, Polly Kronenberger, Lisa Marling, Michelle Hiestand, Betty Brenner and stepdaughter Jessica Peck and family be thanked for visiting and helping with her care. Even at her sickest, she rallied when her Hospice nurse Melanie visited. She was comforted by the many prayers and well wishes from other family members, friends, and neighbors.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio. A celebration of the life of Rebecca Kisling will be 5:00 P.M at the funeral home with Dr. Lisa Marling officiating. Following the celebration and in memory of Bec’s love of feeding people, a carry-in meal will be held at the New Hope United Methodist Church, 5367 US-35 West, Eaton, (New Hope), Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420. Without the help of Hospice, Bec and Janet’s journey through cancer would have been even more difficult.
