Rawland E. (Pete) Hosenfeld

Rawland "Pete" E. Hosenfeld age 80, of New Paris, OH died Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton, OH. Rawland was born on November 3, 1935 in Mount Pleasant, OH the son of the late Carlos G. & Alice E. (Kaufman) Hosenfeld. He was a 1954 Jefferson High School graduate and served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. He was a Truck Driver for Louie Howell Transport and had also worked at the Richmond and Eaton Wal-Mart Stores from 1998 to 2008. He had served on the Northwest Fire & Rescue for 22 years.

Preceded in death by wife of 57 years: Barbara A. Hosenfeld in 2015. Survived by: children: Cindy & David Van Atta of Monroe, OH; Ron E. Hosenfeld of New Paris, OH; Christy K. & Richard Baker of New Paris, OH and Carol F. & Marlin Brewster of West Manchester, OH; sisters: Gertrude L. Hammons and Mary Jane Hosenfeld both of Richmond, IN and Linda Jean Scheiding of New Paris, OH; brother: Robert Hosenfeld of Indiana; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street – New Paris, OH with the memorial service to be held 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Brodey Rike officiating. The Preble County Guard will provide military honors.
