Ralph Wayne Edwards

RALPH WAYNE EDWARDS, age 72, of West Elkton, Ohio, died Saturday, November 25, 2006 at his residence. Born on June 11, 1934, in Keavy, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James Lee & Lucy (Cassidy) Edwards. Ralph was raised by his grandmother: Clara Cassidy & his uncle & aunt: Woodrow & Pearl Cassidy. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Ralph helped build the West Elkton Church of Christ in 1970 which he was a member and a church elder. He was also a member and church elder of the Berea Church of Christ in Berea, Kentucky. Ralph also coached Little League Baseball and was a 4-H Leader. He owned and operated Edwards Mobil Station in West Elkton, Ohio. He was a licensed Plumber, Electrician, & did Construction in the area. He retired in 1992 from Kroger as a Mechanic in Kroger’s Warehouse. Preceded in death by his brother: James Lee Edwards in 2001.

Survived by his wife of 51 years: Betty (Lewis) Edwards; sons & daughters-in-law: Anthony Wayne & Leah Edwards of Hamiltion, Ohio and Timothy Dale & Cheryl Edwards of West Elkton, Ohio; daughters & son-in-law: Diane Marie & Doug Elam of West Elkton, Ohio and Patricia Elaine Carroll of Hamilton, Ohio; sisters & brothers-in-law: Ella Mae & Jack Scherzinger of Hamilton, Ohio and Doris Jane & Jim Coakley of Oxford, Ohio; aunt: Grace ”Flo” Farthing of Florida; eight grandchildren: John & Becky, James & Sherry Edwards, Rachal, Stephanie Carroll, Linda Elam, Alexa, Cheyanne, and Gunner Edwards; four step grandchildren: Doug & Renee, David & Kathy Elam, Keith, Peggy. Two great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren. numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 - 11:00 a.m. at the West Elkton Church of Christ - 12153 State Route 503 South - West Elkton, Ohio with Minister Eloy Encinias & Minister Charles Paul Pennington officating. Interment will be at Fairmound Cemetery in West Elkton, Ohio with the Preble County Honor Guard providing full military honors. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Nein - Barnes Funeral Home - 249 North Main Street - Camden, Ohio.
