Ralph S. Hawley, Sr., age 90 of New Paris, OH, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 3, 2012 in Florida. Born on May 23, 1921 in New Paris, OH, he was the son of the late Carl R. & Bessie L. (Fitzwater) Hawley. Ralph retired from Avco Corp in Richmond after 28 years and had worked in the parking garage for the City of Richmond and Sanders Implement in Richmond. He was a 1939 graduate of Jefferson Twp. High School, U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of W.W. II, 32 Degree Mason and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge and Past Patron of the Eastern Star, both in New Paris. He was active with the Senior Center in Eaton and was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Paris.
Preceded in death by his Wife of 66 years: Ethel F. (Godwin) Hawley in 2008; Brother: William C. Hawley; Sister: Lucille Spencer.
Survived by children & spouses, Janet & David Hickok, Sagamore Hills, OH, Donna Burdette, Edgewater, FL, Carol Brady, New Paris, OH and Stan Hawley, Vandalia, OH; grandchildren, Amy Berch, Allen & Carole Brady, John Jessup, Matthew & Melissa Jessup, Jeff & Lori Burdette, Renee & Steve Moy, Jacob & Anna Brady, Katie Jessup; 13 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 301 East Main St., New Paris, OH with Rev. Pam Weaver officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris with military honors by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 4:00 to 6:45 p.m. at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main St., New Paris, OH with Masonic Service at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
