Ralph E. Swihart

RALPH E. SWIHART, age 90, of West Alexandria, Ohio, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at the Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton. Born on July 8, 1916 in West Alexandria, Ohio, he was the son of the late George O & Myrtle Mae (Marker) Swihart. He was a 1935 graduate of West Alexandria High School and was a WW II U.S. Army veteran. In 1978 he retired from Parker Hannifin in Eaton as a lead setup operator in hydraulic fittings after 25 years of service. He was a Twin Township farmer and a past member of the James E. Ryan American Legion Post in West Alexandria. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers: Lloyd in 1928, Darrell in 1939 and William in 1945. Sisters: Ada Lee Turner in 1990, Zelma Overholser in 1996 and Irene Parks in 2002.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorotha L. (Rowe) Swihart, sons and daughters-in-law, William E. and Beverly Swihart of Marion, Ohio, Thomas L. Swihart of Chino, California and John E. and Brinda Swihart of West Alexandria; Grandchildren: Amy L.(Jeff) Craig, Krista M. Swihart, William Eric (Alyson) Swihart, Anna M. (Jeff Ober) Swihart, Jeff A. (Dawn) Swihart and John M. Swihart; Great Grandchildren, Brendan Swihart, Evan and Katie Craig. Nephews: Jack Turner and Darrell Bryant both of Eaton.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2006 at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Interment will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery near West Alexandria. Family will receive friends on Thursday, November 2, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
