Raleigh Dees

Raleigh Dees, age 89 of New Paris, OH, died Saturday, February 16, 2019 at his residence. Born on February 21, 1929 in Manchester, KY, he was the son of the late Shelby & Drusiller (Robinson) Dees. Raleigh retired in 1991 from Wayne Works in Richmond. He was a U.S. Army veteran, member of the American Legion in New Paris, a 50 plus year member of the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons - King Solomon chapter 4, Wayne Council #10 Royal & Select Masters and Richmond Commandery #8 Knights Templar all of Richmond, IN, Masonic Lodge 697 in KY and The Grand Lodge of Kentucky, F. & A.M. Oneida Lodge #736. Member of the Gospel Baptist Church in New Paris. 

Preceded in death by his Wife: Betty Jo (Smith) Dees in 2006. Brothers: Ancil, Harley and Marlin Dees and sister, Mildred Davis.  

Survived by Sons: Marlin & Teresa Dees and Gerold & Aline Dees; Sisters: Ruby Black, Shirley York, Brilla Rawlins and Deannie Brown; Brothers: Casper & Arlie Dees; Grandchildren: Christina Hopkins, Diane Canterbury, Jerame Dees and Coty Aline Smith; Great Grandchildren: Cassidy Hopkins, Joshua Hopkins, Garrett Mead, Wendy Canterbury, Sunny Canterbury, Norman Logan Smith and Layla Aline Witte. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Masonic and Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, OH with Pastor Allen Henderson officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris with Military Honors by the Preble County Honor Guard.
