Philip Neil Hoffman

Philip Neil Hoffman, age 64 of New Paris, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at his residence. Born on December 29, 1957, in Richmond, Indiana he was the son of the late Max Harold & Martha J. (O’Neil) Hoffman. Neil was a 1976 National Trail graduate and had worked at Parker Hannifin in Eaton for 14 years, Tudor’s Garage in New Paris and Miami Valley Plastics in Eldorado. He had served on the New Paris Council for several years and was the New Paris Mayor from January 2004 to 2013. Member of the Darke County Fish & Game and he coached Youth Football in Eaton and Lewisburg. 

Preceded in death by special cousin: John Wood.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years: Sherri L. (Spencer) Hoffman; Daughter & Son-in-law: Heather & Zach Hollingsworth of New Paris, OH; Brother: Mark H. & (Kim Dees) Hoffman of Eaton, OH; Sisters & brothers-in-law: Kathleen M. & James Stayton, Eldorado, Ohio; Andrea L. & Kevin Smallwood, New Paris, Ohio; Grandchildren: Hayden Jones, Caiden Hollingsworth and Mason Cordle. Several nieces and nephews; Special Cousin: Jean Strickland. 

Family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Barnes Funeral Home – 109 West Main Street – New Paris, Ohio. The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Monday, January 10, 2022, at the funeral home with Rev. Rodney Dunn officiating. Interment will be in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio.
