PHILIP G. “Phil” MILLER, age 61, of Eldorado, OH died Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the VA Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He was born June 28, 1946 in Richmond, Indiana, the son of the late Harris B. & Audra (Gephart) Miller. He was a 1964 graduate of Jefferson High School and attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. From 1966 to 1968 he served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was stationed in Germany. In May of 1976 he opened Miller Appliance and Floor Covering in Eldorado. Since 1969 he has served on the Eldorado Fire Department and is a charter and life member of the AMVETS Post # 726 in Eldorado; member of the Eldorado Jaycees and 40 year member of the American Legion Post #665-Priddy-Walters in West Manchester, Ohio.
Survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary J. (Reeves) Miller; Sons and daughters-in-law: Dean & Brenda Miller and Christopher & Terri Miller both of New Madison, Ohio; Daughter and son-in-law: Keri & Fred Osswald of Eaton, Ohio; Brother: Richard H. Miller, West Manchester, Ohio; Grandchildren: Jacob Miller, Elizabeth Miller and Blake Osswald.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Wares Chapel United Methodist Church, 1060 Foos Rd., West Manchester, Ohio, with Pastor John Rozewicz and Pastor Kyle Herrmann officiating. Inurnment will be held in Wares Chapel Cemetery, Foos Rd., West Manchester with full military graveside service by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends following the graveside in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Arrangements entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home- 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Eldorado Firehouse, 140 E. Mill Street, Eldorado, Ohio 45321; North Central Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 156, West Manchester, Ohio 45382; AMVETS Post # 726, 340 W. Mill Street, Eldorado, Ohio or to the American Legion Post #665-Priddy-Walters, 450 N. Main St., West Manchester, Ohio.
