Pete Taylor

CHESTER E. "PETE" TAYLOR, 77, of Eaton, Ohio, died Wednesday, August 19, 2009 in Richmond, Indiana. Pete was born on August 21, 1931 in Wayne County, Indiana and was a 1951 graduate of Jackson High School in Jackson Township, Preble County, Ohio. He was a Korean war veteran in the U.S. Marine Corp and was the owner and operator of the Shell Station in Eaton. He retired from Dale Carter Ford in Eaton where he was the Parts Manager. He was active in little league, pee wee football and the cub scouts for many years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially his grandchildren. Pete is preceded in death by is mother, Thursa Mae (Taylor) Taylor in 1942 and his father, Robert Lee Taylor in 1944. Following the death of his father Pete was adopted and raised by William "Bill" and Mary Clayman. In addition to parents he is preceded in death by his grandson, Edgar Lee Taylor II, granddaughter, Anna Marie Taylor and sister, Flora Hofacker.

Survived by his wife of 54 years, Eula Emogene (McMurray) Taylor; sons and daughters-in-law, Edgar Lee "Ed" & Judy Taylor and Robert Eugene "Rob" & Nita Taylor all of Eaton; brothers, Robert Clayman of New Westville, Ohio and John Clayman of Brownfield, Texas; sister, Lucille Pease of Eaton; grandchildren, Ashlee (Brad) Suder, Holly (Travis) Brubaker, Louden (Kendra) Taylor and Mallory Taylor; great grandson, Damien Taylor; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 24, 2009 at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton with Pastor Arvil Dean officiating. Interment with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton. Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 23, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
