Paul W. Mikesell

PAUL W. MIKESELL, 87, of New Paris, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 in Richmond, IN. Born on May 12, 1921 in New Paris, OH, he was the son of the late Earl C. And Ida L. (Hartman) Mikesell. Paul was a cashier and Vice President of the First National Bank of New Paris from 1946 to 1978 and later served as a director for Eaton National Bank & Trust Co. from 1984 to 2004. He was a WW II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and POW in Germany from 1944 to 1945. He retired as a Captain in the Air Force Reserves. Member of the New Paris Church of Christ. Preceded in death by brothers: Ralph H. Mikesell and Homer Mikesell.

Survived by Wife of 68 years: Dorothy J. (Steinbrink) Mikesell; Daughters: Joan L. Price, Lakeside, OH, Anne M. Mikesell, Hilliard, OH, Susan E. (Mike) Mabrey, Mobile, AL; Son: Donald E. Mikesell, Lexington, KY; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with Sam Stone officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris with full military graveside service by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 9, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
